Dear Family,
We send our condolences on the passing of your loved one. He has rendered many years of service to us in Fairfield County. Be assured that Almighty God will keep your dear loved one in His memory, and will resurrect him back to a peaceful earth to live forever. (John5:25) In the meantime, may you find comfort through kind deeds and thoughts from others, fond memories, and promises from the Scriptures.

I wanted to reach out to you during this sad time to offer my condolences. While nothing will completely take away your grief, by meditating on God's promises found in the Bible, you can find real hope and the strength to keep going. I have found the scripture at Isaiah 25:8 to be especially comforting. Here it promises that God "will swallow up death forever, And the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces."

I am so saddened to hear of Judge Goode's passing. It was always a pleasure to work with him. Before he was elected to the bench, as a freelance reporter, I can remember coming to his office in Winnsboro along with attorneys from Columbia to take depositions. Even though he was on the opposing side, he never failed to extend hospitality and make everyone present feel welcome. He represented Winnsboro beautifully.

Katherine and the family:

Kenny was what we in the profession all aspire to be: simply, a good lawyer. One who can represent a client to the fullest, and then sit down with their opposing counsel for a cup of coffee afterward. I visited his office in Winnsboro years ago, before he became a judge, and was impressed with his pride from representing the only person acquitted in the Lost Trust investigation. And he became an excellent judge. Please accept my sympathies for the good man who has left us.

It is indeed sad that you are mourning the loss of your dear Mr. Goode. Please accept my condolences and know that our loving God is keenly aware of your distressing pain. Soon, He will eliminate all suffering on earth, including death as He has previously done. Therefore, we can appreciate how the Bible further stress that fact in this video link:

To the Goode Family,

Please accept my condolences for your loss of such a kind, fun, and loyal man.

Kenny gave me my first job as a lawyer in the early 90's. As I nervously awaited my Bar Exam results, Kenny told me that I would have a job regardless of the result.
After only one year, I told Kenny that I planned to move back to my hometown because my wife and I were expecting our first child. Kenny supported me and eventually hired my replacement. My new job in my hometown took much longer to finalize than either of us anticipated. Without me asking, Kenny allowed me to continue to come to the office, even though my replacement was in place, and carried me on his payroll until my new job began. That is Kenny Goode. I have never forgotten his kindness to a young man that he had only known for a matter of months.

While Kenny will be remembered for his many outstanding qualities, his kindness and loyalty stood out to me the most.

Following a story I wrote in The Herald Independent about the disagreement over one of his rulings, Judge Goode called me up and paid me a compliment on the fairness and objectivity of the article. I appreciated that even though I was just doing my job as a reporter. He was always unfailingly polite, compassionate and gentlemanly and had a wicked sense of humor. I will miss him.

Katherine and the Goode family,

I just heard that Kenny has left us.
Kenny and I were members of the 1976 graduating class from the University of South Carolina School of Law. As I had spent my summers in college working for the News and Herald, we both had a love for Winnsboro. I also was the one of the first to visit Kenny when he opened his first law office above the old Belk's Building. Its easy to remember that visit, as Kenny had a business liscense on the wall and no furniture. I always joked with Kennny that he had gone farther and achieved more than any other boy from the mill village.
Kenny was an accomplished lawyer, jurist, and a devoted friend. I loved Kenny.
The thoughts of me and mine are with you and yours.
George Hunter McMaster

I had study hall with Kenny in high school-no studying there! I don't know how the teacher survived, but we had fun!!!! Rest In Peace, Friend!
