It is indeed sad that you are mourning the loss of your dear Chandler. Please accept my condolences. Be comforted in knowing that in God’s due time, he will forever eliminate all suffering on earth including death, as scripturally expressed in this video link:

We don't know what to say except that we love you. We can't understand exactly how you feel, but Jehovah does and will keep raising you up. We hope that our prayers help a little. Psalm 94:19 "When anxieties overwhelmed me, You comforted and soothed me."

Chandler Hamby was an amazing friend and fellow student. Although we were only in the same classes for a year, I grew to know, love, and appreciate her so very much. She made an indelible impact on my life. She never complained about the trials in her life, but always maintained a joyful, exuberant outlook. She was witty, engaging, compassionate, and a deep thinker. Chandler always pushed you harder and further down the road. I will never forget the times when we had group projects together. It was such an incredible experience working with her!

Chandler lived every day for Jesus. It came through in the way she spoke and interacted with her fellow students, and it came through in the quality of her work. I am everlastingly grateful that Christ brought Chandler into my life. I am praying for her family as they mourn the loss of a precious daughter and sister. I know that Chandler is at peace in the presence of her Lord and Savior.

I had the privilege of getting to know Chandler through BHS. I can't tell you how many times she made our class laugh with her very witty and sarcastic personality. I can remember all the fun little skype dates we had talking about papers, debates, or just funny quotes and movies. One of the first times Chandler and I skyped, Chandler wrote a list of random questions and conversations starters so that we wouldn't run out of things to talk about. It made me laugh at the time, but as I look back, Chandler always did little things like that to let everyone she came in contact with know that she cared about them. She was so intentional in everything she said, and so so passionate in her faith in Christ. Chandler was a joy to know here on earth and I cannot wait to see her again one day soon.

I’m remembering Chandler from the time she was 5 years old, when she was a bouncy, bright, inquisitive child. She learned to sew when she was about 6 or 7. She sang in my children’s choir and had a solo part in our musical. Then I remember her at age 15 when she studied Spanish with me. Languages were not easy for Chan, but she persevered and finished as one of my top students. At that time, she was on her way to becoming a lovely and gracious youn lady. Since finding out about her illness, I have diligently prayed for her and all the wonderful Hamby family. I am filled with incredible joy and sorrow at the sane time- joy, because she is now free from this devastating illness, but great sorrow, because she wax taken so soon from this wonderful, loving family. My prayers continue for you all.

Chandler was such a joy to have in class. She was a diligent student and a great friend. I always loved the opportunities we had to work with each other one on one. Despite everything she was going through, Chandler remained joyful and trusted in the Lord. Her faith and delight in life inspired her fellow classmates. She will be sorely missed, but we will see her again! Prayers for your family as you experience this bittersweet parting.

Belhaven University High Scholars faculty, staff, and students were blessed to have Chandler in our classes. She never missed a class discussion or assignment even during her treatments. And she got all A's! Thank you for sharing this amazing young lady with us. She will be remembered fondly.

Everyone in High Scholars loved and respected Chandler. Her voice in our class discussions was always bright with energy, informed and full of wisdom and love for Jesus Christ and the world. It hurts so much to say good-bye to her. I know she had many hopes for her earthly life. Death is always hard. It was for Jesus and it is for us too. In eternity, all our questions will be answered, everything will be made right, and Chandler and all God's people will be comforted with perfect, beautiful, and productive lives - forever and ever. She is there now, but we still cry....
