Mrs. White,
I am truly sorry about your dear husband of 51 years. Please accept my deepest sympathies and some words of comfort from God's Word, the Bible.
The loss of a husband can cause pain and feelings of loneliness, but remember that you are never alone. Our merciful, heavenly Father is there for you to help you endure difficult times such as this. (Psalms 121:1-3; 145:18,19) So, please call upon and accept all the help from "the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials."~~2 Corinthians 1:3,4~~
Our loving God and Creator did not intend for us to die, so he promises to reunite us with our loved ones who have fallen asleep in death. (Job 14:14,15; Acts 24:15) Knowing you will see your dear James again will hopefully bring you a large measure of peace and comfort. I will also include you in my prayers.

Today, in my prayers, I say farewell to my dearest friend who in a legendary way fought various heart attacks and strokes over the years. How to sum up a person who dedicated his life, his time and everything he had to the honor and glory of Jesus, his kingdom and his Church? James White, my pastor, has been part of my life, my family and my ministry for over fifteen years – it feels more like my whole life…
Shrewd, passionate... he was quite an achiever, battler and I already miss him.
Hours of laughter, prayer, evangelism, bringing the Kingdom of God closer to everyone- everywhere… bbq ribs, Boston butts, briskets, prime ribs and, of course, fried chicken.
A good friend of mine who showed how to serve the Lord and love others, head on with no complaints nor apologies..
He had an inner strength that could have powered the world and courage beyond anyone I’ve ever met. He did what he had to do and took things one-step at a time. He always looked forward and never dwelled on complacency- never losing his sense of humor. He is an inspiration to all those who knew him.
Together we experienced the power of God, we met great people
There were times when we didn’t see each other, Iowa, Brazil, Iowa, South Carolina, Georgia, Oklahoma, far away for a while but when we caught up again we just had more to talk about, like a conversation that never ended.
I got to know most of the members of his family, and both, Drema and pastor became our family . You all mean the world to us!
This is difficult... Today we say farewell. Today I see him off knowing he is at peace, he fought the good fight, he won and he knows he is loved.
I could write and talk for hours and still not cover half of our conversations, adventures we had, trials we overcome and good times we shared…

I was saddened to hear of Pastor White's passing, but happy to know that he now knows no pain and is rejoicing in Heaven. How happy he must have been when he heard the Lord say, you have served me with unwavering devotion, you have fought a good fight and kept the faith, enter now into the Joy of the Lord. Pastor was briefly my pastor but was a long time friend.
