Funeral services for Earnest Leen Matuse, 83, of Winnsboro will be held at 11:00am Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Stephen Greene Baptist Church conducted by Reverend Dr. Mickey Cockrell and Reverend Jimmy Burroughs.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the church. 

Mrs. Matuse passed on Monday, August 15, 2016.  Born in Darlington, SC on August 5, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Will L. Galloway and Eva Harding Galloway. 

Mrs. Matuse is survived by he son, Bryan Jennings Matuse (Benjie); daughters, Lane Matuse  Brazell (George), and Janet Matuse  Dusenbury (Joe); brother, Harvey Galloway (Paula); and sister, Bonnie Galloway Clanton.  She is also survived by six grandchildren, Kevin Brazell, Casey Brazell, Kyle Brazell (Lindsay), Blair Hollis (Bobby), Lacey Rabon (Josh), and Dr. Benjamin Friday (Katie); and four great grandchildren, Ainsley, Liam, Cooper, and Ginny. 

In addition to her parents and husband, Henry Jennings Matuse, she is predeceased a sister, Silveree Gilbert. 

Mrs. Matuse was a member of Stephen Greene Baptist Church where she was past co-chair of the youth program.  She also was a member of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Matuse retired from Manhatten Shirt Co. and she and her husband owned and operated Jr. Food World in Winnsboro. 

Ernie will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to many.  She was a true southern cook. We will miss her biscuits, chicken and rice, pineapple cakes and her wonderful toasted cheeseburgers.
