I am saddened that I just found out about Mrs. Bette's passing. I hadn't seen her or talked to her in many years since I left Winnsboro in 2000, but she was in my heart. She was a dear friend to my mom for many years and I thought a lot of her. A wonderful woman that I know is missed by so many. My prayers are with the family.

Bette Pope earned the trust and love of the people of Winnsboro and Fairfield County after her husband’s death as she continued to operate Pope Funeral Home in a professional businesslike manner. The many grief-stricken mourners held her in high esteem as she comforted them at a difficult time with her caring, consoling demeanor in the services she provided for their deceased loved ones in their final journey on earth. May she rest in peace as she goes to her reward in Heaven.

I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Bette about two years ago while visiting a friend who has since passed at NHC that lived next door to Ms. Bette and Ms. Jackie (her roommate). I continued to visit Ms. Bette and Ms. Jackie several times a week. I last saw her on Saturday. I will miss her laugh the most and the positive attitude that she had on everyone whose lives she touched, including mine. Rest in Peace Ms. Bette.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. May you find comfort in the resurrection promise at John 5;28,29 that reads; "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming when all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." The Bible gives us hope that one day our dead loved ones will be brought back to life.
