Joseph E. Douglas

Graveside services for Mr. Joe Douglas, 98, of Ridgeway will be held at 5:00 pm Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Bethel ARP Church Cemetery conducted by Reverend James McManus.  The family will receive friends after the service in the church fellowship hall. 

Mr. Douglas died on Friday, May 6, 2016.  Born in the Douglass community of Fairfield County, he was son of the late Thomas Joseph and Ethel Graddick Douglas, Jr.   

Mr. Douglas is survived by two sons, Jesse L. Douglas (Brenda) and Larry J. Douglas (Dianne); two daughters, Betty Jo D. Peay and Carolyn D. Tanner (John); seven grandchildren, Vonnie T. Stevenson, John C. Tanner, Jr., Margaret D. Branham, Sarah P. Price, Miriam P. Costenbader, Chad Douglas, and Jessica D. Nix; fourteen great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents and wife of 57 years, Sarah B. Douglas, Joe is predeceased by one brother, Thomas L. Douglas; one sister, Miriam D. Wallace; and great grandson, Joshua Douglas Stevenson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in Joe’s memory to Bethel ARP Church, PO Box 639, Winnsboro, SC 29180.
