Tris T. Watkins, Jr. of Blackstock, went to be with his heavenly Father on October1,2023 Tris was born in Odessa, Texas on November 10, 1942 to Tris T. Watkins, Sr. and Betty Watkins, (both deceased).
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Nancy Lewis Watkins, one son, Tris T. Watkins III (Constance) and one daughter, Jennifer W. Jeffcoat (Brent) both of Lexington, SC and two sisters, Andrea Westmoreland (Peck, deceased) and Gloria Haile (Jerry) of Texas, Two grandsons, Brady Jeffcoat and Grayson Jeffcoat and five grand dogs. He is also survived by brothers and sister-in-laws, as well as many nephews and nieces.
Tris was a veteran who served his country in the United States Air Force. He was employed in Winnsboro at Uniroyal/ Michelin for 30 years as a mechanical engineer, and maintenance manager.
Until he was unable, Tris was an active member of St. Theresa Catholic Church where he lovingly took care of maintaining the church for many years. He has many loving friends who are still members of this parish.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 Am Friday, October 6, 2023, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Winnsboro and burial will be at Stephen Green Memorial Cemetery following the Mass. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM Thursday evening at Pope Funeral Home.
