Obituary

Thomas Eldridge “Mac” McLendon, 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. Born in Winnsboro, he was the son of Hampton and Leonda McLendon.

Mac is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jackie R. McLendon; brother, Charles McLendon of Tampa, FL; daughters-in-law Cecilia McLendon of West Columbia and Cher McLendon of Myrtle Beach; son-in-law, Scott McLemore of West Columbia; and grandchildren, Thomas “Trey” E. McLendon, III (Krissy) of Miami FL, Jack Thomas McLemore, and Lilly McLendon.

In addition to his parents, Mac is predeceased by his three children, Thomas E. McLendon, Jr. "Temmy", Amanda M. McLemore, and Brian McLendon.

Mac served in the U.S. Army 1953-55 and then began a 40-year career in manufacturing management for Spring Mills. He enjoyed all sports, especially Gamecock football and baseball, and a good golf tournament. But it was his family and all their memories that he loved the most.

A memorial service will be held at 2 o’clock PM Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Pope Funeral Home in Winnsboro, S.C. conducted by Reverend Lex McDonald of Greene Street United Methodist Church and Reverend Davis Anderson. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
