Thomas “David” Dye Jr., of Winnsboro, SC went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 25th 2023.
David was born to the late Thomas David Dye Sr. and Wanda Montgomery (Stevens) on March 22, 1962 in Richlands, Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Terina Dye, son Bryan Dye (Taylor), daughter Allyson Rogers, and four beautiful grandchildren: Mila Rogers (6), Brooklyn Rogers (6), Colt Dye (2) and Josie Dye (1). He is also survived by his brother, Keith Dye (Tiffany), sister Brianne Green (Zach) and several nieces and nephews.
David graduated from Tennessee High School in 1980. He married his wife Terina on December 1st, 1984. On July 25th, 1993, he and Terina were blessed with fraternal twins, Bryan and Allyson.
David was a devoted son, husband, father, brother, and uncle. He lived for spending time with his family, especially his 4 grandchildren who made him the proudest “Papa” in the world. After spending much of his career as a Quality Assurance Supervisor in Summerville, South Carolina, he was able to retire and transition into his favorite role - a full time grandfather which he cherished the most.
No one was ever a stranger to David, but instantly a friend. He was the life of the party, the first to make conversation and always left people with great stories and even better laughs. If you needed someone to make light of a situation, David never failed to deliver. He lived in the moment and didn’t sweat the small stuff, unless it was the condition of his yard.
Having served as a deacon, we take comfort in David’s relationship with the Lord. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The memorial service will be held on July 1st, 2023 at 1:00 PM. at Denton Valley Baptist Church, located at 24051 Denton Valley Road Abingdon, VA 24211.
