Robert B Milling

Robert “Bobby” Bryan Milling, Sr., of Ridgeway, SC, entered the glorious gates of Heaven on July 28, 2021. He was born in Louisiana to the late Joseph Wearing and Eleanor Sease Milling.  

Bobby is survived by his high school sweetheart, Sarah “Wally” Turner Milling, to whom he was married for 51 years; his four children Robert Bryan Milling, Jr. (Rebecca), Wallace Turner Milling (Amy), Eleanor Sease Milling, and Katherine Milling Jacobs (Bryan); his three brothers Joseph “Tinka” Wearing Milling Jr., James “Jim” Sease Milling (Gaye), and Boyd “Bitsy” Allison Milling (Jo); and his eight adoring grandchildren Martha, Sam, Turner, Stephen, and Margaret Milling; and Ellie, Davis, and Charlotte Jacobs.  

He received a mechanical engineering degree from the University of South Carolina and worked for 30 years at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC, where he raised his family. After retiring, he and Wally returned to Ridgeway to care for his mother and be closer to friends and family.  

Bobby was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Columbia, where he loved studying the word of God and worshiping Him with gladness. He was known to be funny, kind, and generous in spirit, humbly serving the needs of others. He was a hard worker who strived to do all things to the best of his ability. He was a man of devotion who diligently honored his word. Though he suffered affliction, the joy of the Lord was his strength and he continuously praised his Heavenly Father for His bountiful blessings. We all rejoice that he has found eternal rest in the arms of Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at First Presbyterian Church,1324 Marion Street, Columbia, SC 29201. The family will receive friends and family in Jackson Hall following the service.
