Rebecca Trowell Douglas

Rebecca Trowell Douglas, 62, of Winnsboro passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019. Born in Hampton, SC, she was the daughter of Gloria Hogg Sholin and the late Gerald Grey “Buddy” Trowell, Sr. 

Rebecca is survived by her son, Richard Price Douglas (Samantha); brother, Gerald Grey “Jerry” Trowell, Jr.; sister, Swan Trowell Daniel; grandson, Bennett Douglas; and nephew, Reese Daniel. 

In addition to her father, Rebecca is predeceased by her husband, Richard Marvin “Ricky” Douglas. 

Rebecca graduated from Patrick Henry Academy and went on to graduate from the University of South Carolina with a Degree in Early Childhood Education.  She taught kindergarten for 30 years in the Fairfield County School District and past President and board member of Fairfield County First Steps. She was a member of the Winnsboro Cotillion and the WWW, ladies she loved like sisters.  Her many interests included cooking, gardening, and the love of the beach and her family. The sunshine of her life was her grandson Bennett.  Her many friends and family will miss her dearly. 

Memorial services will be held at 2 o’clock Pm Thursday, December 19, 2019 at St. John Episcopal Church in Winnsboro.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the church Parrish Hall.
