Patricia Owens Amick

Mrs. Vern F. Amick, 82 of Winnsboro, passed away on Sunday, May 23rd, 2021. Born in Pleasant Hill, SC in Georgetown County, she was the daughter of the late James T. and Vernice C. Owens.

Patricia is predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Vern F. Amick. She is survived by three children: Brian F. Amick (Tammie) of Sumter, Lisa A. Cathcart (Thomas) of Blythewood, and James V. Amick (JoEllen) of Irmo, as well as eight grandchildren: Brian F. Amick Jr., LeAnne M. Amick, Margaret J. Cathcart, Carter O. Cathcart, Samuel J. Cathcart, Christian J. Amick, Colin D. Amick, and Caelyn P. R. Amick.

In addition to her parents, Patricia is predeceased by three brothers: Johnny Owens, George Owens, and Gerald Owens. She is survived by her three sisters: Betty Lewellen, Gracie Birchmore and Arden Evans, as well as her brother, Greg Owens.

Patricia graduated from Columbia College in 1960 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education, and was a dedicated first grade school teacher for over 35 years. Patricia was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 26th at Bethel Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 101 Zion St., Winnsboro, SC. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am and will be conducted by Reverend James McManus. Burial will immediately follow at the First United Methodist Church Cemetery.
