Mary "Pretty" Cathey

Mary “Pretty” Cathey, 51, of Winnsboro passed away on February 2, 2022.  Born in Winnsboro on March 15, 1970, she was the daughter of the late Cleveland Knotts and Minnie “Peggy” Sims. 

Pretty loved her kids and grandkids more than anything. She loved fishing, listening to music, and spending time with family and her pets. 

She is survived by her four children, Stephanie (Chubby) Kennedy, Ashley McLaughlin, Todd McLaughlin, and Sarah McLaughlin; grandchildren, Anthony “Tony” (Savannah) Craft, Dana Kennedy, Dannion McLaughlin, JaDarius “JJ” Robinson, Ariyonna “Smurf” Robinson, Macie Kennedy, Dominic “DJ” McLaughlin, and Marlee Kennedy; and her sisters, Shirley “Fat” Cromer, Nina Sims, Lucy Sims, and Diane (Ron) Bass. 

In addition to her parents, Pretty is predeceased by her husband, Chuck Cathey; grandson, Carson McLaughlin; two brothers, Stink and Buck Sims, sister, Sarah Sims; stepdaughter, Barbara McLaughlin, and her beloved pet Tiny. 

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 1 o’clock pm Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Pope Funeral Home in Winnsboro.  The family will receive friends after the service.
