Mary Brice Yongue

Mary Brice Yongue, 90, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2020. Born July 25, 1929 to the late Thomas David Brice and Annie Steen Brice in Charlotte, NC but lived most of her life in Winnsboro on “The Brice Hill.” She was a member of First Baptist Church in Winnsboro.

Mrs Yongue is predeceased by her husband of 66 years, George Edmund Yongue, Jr.; her son George Edmund Yongue, III; three sisters, and four brothers.

She is survived by three daughters who were with her to the end, Susan Y. Hughes (Ernie), Laura Y. Bunting (Mike), and Mary Jo Y. Wilson (Freddie); one son, Timothy B. Yongue and daughter-in-law Lucille S. Yongue; Nana to six grandchildren, Crawford Hughes, Jr. (Beth), Keleigh Hughes Caldwell (Cal), Edmund Yongue, Mary Gray B. Tiller (Jamie), Mikey Bunting and Cheyenne Yongue; six great grandchildren, Caleigh Caldwell, Dru Caldwell, Maggie Hughes, Sarah Hughes, Lennon Tiller and Billy Rosborough; and one brother, L. Hubert Brice (Bonnie).

A private family graveside service will be held at First Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of Ridgeway Manor Healthcare Center and Compassionate Care Hospice for their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in Mary’s memory to Greenville Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605 or to a charity of one’s choice.
