Mary Black Obituary

Mary Sue Black, 73, of Winnsboro passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, surrounded by her loving Family.  Born in Winnsboro, she was the daughter of the late William Terry Haney, Sr. and Mildred Cleo Cooper.

Sue is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 51 years, Michael Stanley Black; daughters, Mary Black (Andre) and Michelle Durham (Chris); brothers, Troy Haney (Tina) and Mark Haney (Becky); three loving grandchildren, Justin McGauley (Deanna), Cameron M. Black, and Cody McGauley; and two precious great grandchildren, Charlotte, and Justin, and her most adored fur child, Nanuk.

In addition to her parents, Sue is predeceased by her son, Michael S. Black, Jr., brother, William Terry Haney, Jr., and sister, Mildred Ruth Haney.

In addition to the family she adored and cherished, Sue was a loving individual that gave her love, time, and devotion to her nieces and nephews, friends, and the many “red-headed” step children she so loved dearly.  She was a faithful servant of God and a devoted member of her church.  The legacy she leaves behind is of LOVE, she never ended a conversation or visit without the words “I Love You”.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, February 19, 2024, at Winnsboro First Church of the Nazarene conducted by Reverend Harry Varn.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Church of the Nazarene World Missions, 650 Ninth Street, Winnsboro, SC 29180.
