Lynda Gayle Rose

Lynda “Gayle” Rose, 69, of Winnsboro passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022.  Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Colon Joyce and Leila Mae Berry Price. 

She is survived by her daughter, Tracy C. Adams (Frank); son-in-law, M. David Hyche; brother, Ronnie E. Price (Becky); sister, F. Juanita Murrin (Ray); and grandchildren, Timothy M. Hyche (Melody), Alex O. Cinicola (Katlyn), K. Carson Cinicola, Jeremy A. Adams (Samantha), Christina E. Adams, Cyndi Stephens, Cayla Stephens, James Meeks, and Harold Hubbard. She is also survived by 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lowry R. Rose, Gayle is predeceased by her daughter, Tammy D. Hyche; stepson, H. Wayne Hubbard; sister, I. Wanda White and her brothers, Harold J. Price, C. Wayne Price, and L. Wilburn Price. 

Gayle grew up in the town of Winnsboro until the passing of her father. Her family, then moved to the southeast side of Columbia where she graduated from Lower Richland High School. In 2015, Gayle returned to her hometown of Winnsboro, where she lived until her passing.

Gayle was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many. She never met a stranger that she did not bring into her family. She was an avid Gamecock fan, watching the football games every season. She found passion in the breeding of white German Shepherds and treasured her “babies” dearly. Her favorite time of the year was October for the SC State Fair. Often going most nights when she could and attending many concerts during that time. She gave freely and loved deeply and placed God as her redeemer.

Gayle will be missed by many, but memories will be treasured for a lifetime. She was much loved; “A bushel and a peck” until we meet again.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Fairlawn United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends after the service in the church fellowship hall. The address to the church is 9203 Wilson Blvd, Columbia, SC 29203. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Gayle’s memory to the Fairfield County Animal Shelter for her overwhelming love of animals.
