John Weldon "Jack" Ramsey, Jr.

John “Jack” Weldon Ramsey, Jr., 86, passed away on December 11, 2021. Born in Winnsboro, SC on February 23,1935. He was the son of the late John Weldon and Martha Phillips Ramsey, Sr.

Jack is survived by his wife Betty H. Ramsey, his children, Elizabeth (Jimmy) Joyner, John “Robby” Robert Ramsey, Tammy Elaine Ramsey; grandchildren, Paul (Allison) Ramsey, Daryl Ramsey, Miranda Harris, James “Jay” (Caroline) Joyner, Samuel “Sam” Joyner, Jodi Bigham and Robert Ramsey; and great grandchildren, Colton Ramsey, Paul Ramsey, Jr., Nathan Harris.

In addition to his parents, Jack, was predeceased by his siblings, Jean P. Ramsey, James (Pat) B. Ramsey, Mary Eliza “Peggy” Ramsey, Samuel Robert Ramsey, Clara Louise Ramsey, and Martha “Liba” Elizabeth Martin.

Jack served his country by serving in the South Carolina National Guard and the South Carolina State Guard. He retired after many years of service from the South Carolina Forestry Commission as a Forest Fire Warden. Also, he worked part time with his brother, Samuel Robert Ramsey as a carpenter. After retiring, he worked part time with the Mid County Water Co. ,Inc.  Jack was a member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church and the Winnsboro Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and Western Square Dancing.

A graveside service will be held at 3 o’clock PM Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Lebanon Presbyterian Church Cemetery conducted by Reverend Matthew Coplin.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5:30 PM to 7:30PM at Pope Funeral Home.
