Joann Silvia Obituary

Joann Bell Silvia, 82, of Winnsboro passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.  Born in Winnsboro, she was the daughter of the late William Duke and Essie Mae Taylor Bell, Sr.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joseph A. Silvia; son, Randall K. Silvia (Karen), daughter, Wanda S. Wilson; brother, William D. Bell, Jr. (Callie), Helen B. Malphrus (Franklin); six grandchildren, Shandah Silvia, Joshua Silvia, Brenton Silvia (Hannah), Hannah Carter (Christian), Kyle Bunton, and Jake Bunton; and three great grandchildren, Jaden, Dominic, and Mary Blythe.

In addition to her parents, Joann is predeceased by her son, Don Silvia.

Joann enjoyed many different hobbies including reading, sewing, canning and making jelly and jams which she shared with many of her friends and family. One of her many talents included crocheting. Some of the items she made were scarves and hand warmers, which she was delighted to share with family, friends or even complete strangers. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid Gamecock women’s basketball fan.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Winnsboro First Church of the Nazarene conducted by Reverend Harry Varn.  Burial will follow in Fairfield Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Joann’s memory to Winnsboro First Church of the Nazarene, or the Fairfield County Animal Shelter.
