Obituary
Jimmy Ray Wright, Sr., 86, of Winnsboro died on Sunday, August 27, 2023. Born on September 13, 1936, in Winnsboro Mills, Fairfield County, South Carolina, he was the son of the late William Dewey Wright and Sallie Hall Wright.
Jimmy drove for Roadway Trucking Company for 40 plus years.
Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Sandra K. Todd; son, Jimmy R. Wright, Jr.; brothers, Frank Wright, Tommy (Marsha) Wright, and Heyward (Susan) Wright; sisters, Faye (Jessie) Howard, Margaret A. Casey, and Libby (Gary) Smith; five grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy is predeceased by a daughter, Martha Leroy; and brother, Dobson (Irene) Wright.
Jim, affectionately known as “Whip,” will be greatly missed and loved by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Winnsboro First Church of the Nazarene conducted by Reverend Harry Varn. The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the church. A committal will follow in Aimwell Cemetery.
