James Thomas Jones

Mr. James Thomas Jones 71 y/o lifetime resident of Winnsboro SC, passed from this earthly world on Wednesday, August 25, 2021.  Born on September 21, 1949, he was the loving son of the late Thomas and Laura Jones of Winnsboro SC.

After proudly serving in the United States Army in his early years, Mr. Jones returned to his home in Winnsboro SC, where he worked alongside his father and brother as a carpenter in Fairfield County.  James was a proud member of the Lion’s Club, Winnsboro Chapter where he enjoyed helping those in need to receive vision and hearing services through their charitable programs. He especially enjoyed the opportunity he was given to help the children they were able to serve.

James was also a permanent deacon at Sion Presbyterian Church, where he felt it was an honor and privilege to serve God through his devotion to, and he took great pride in doing so.  James was always a kind and loving soul to so many that knew and loved him, and was always willing to help anyone in need, by offering a helping hand or a compassionate word, and was never shy to offer his assistance in anyway he could.

James was well known and praised within his community for his God given talent with framing of a variety of artwork over the years, and he also had a love for music of all genres.  

Mr. Jones is survived by his two siblings Anne Williamson of Blythewood SC, and Mike Jones
(Yvette) of Winnsboro SC. He was also the loving uncle to his Nephews, Wells Williamson, Mikell Jones, and his nieces Eve Williamson and Kim Allen.

Services to honor his memory will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Sion Presbyterian Church.  Visitation will be 9:45-10:45 at the church with the service to follow at 11:00 in the sanctuary.  Burial will be private at Zion United Methodist Church in Blythewood SC.
