Obituary

Harriet Louise Hobbs-Burnside, 63, of Chapin passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023.  Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Julian Hobbs and Ralph Lee Hobbs.

Harriet graduated from Richard Winn Academy and attended College of Charleston where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority.  She was a long-standing member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Winnsboro and a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Columbia.  She was a diehard Clemson fan, a ray of sunshine, could light any room, and knowing her made you a better person.

She is survived by her wife, Mary Grace Burnside; sister, Lauren Hobbs; special son, Matthew Wilson, and a host of family and friends.

A private celebration of her life will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Harriet’s memory to Lowcountry Lab Rescue, PO Box 13627, Charleston, S.C. 29422.
