Obituary

George Glenn Timms, 69, of Winnsboro passed away on Monday, April 11, 2022. Born in Winnsboro, he was the son of the late Phillip Cloid and Eunice Marthers Timms.

George, who was a graduate of Winnsboro High School, received his Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. He spent his career as a social worker serving many communities and touching many lives in his service with DHEC.

His love and faithfulness were with his Savior, family, friends, and his church. He will always be remembered as a caring husband, loving father, voice of reason, and a friend to all who knew him.

George is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Kathy Moore Timms; son, Phillip Thomas Timms; daughter, Rebekah Timms Hedley (Ryan); and brother, Henry Mills Timms (Kay).

Funeral services will be held at 1 o’clock PM, Friday, April 15, 2022 at Winnsboro First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Fairfield Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the committal by the graveside.
