Fred Henry Smith, Jr.

Fred Henry Smith, Jr. 84, of Winnsboro passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.  Born in Winnsboro, he was the son of the late Fred Henry and Lonnie E. Smith, Sr. 

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Deloria “Snooks” Smith; son, Ray Smith; daughter, Karen A. (Thomas) Haynes; brother, Johnny (Ann) Smith; sister, Joan Hollis; sister-in-law, Lilly Smith; one grandson, Justin Haynes; and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. 

In addition to his parents, Fred is predeceased by two brothers, Eugene (LaNora) Smith, James Smith; and three sisters, Marie (James) Rabon, Doris (Oscar) Jackson, and Margie (J.H.) Branham; and brother-in-law, John Hollis.  

Fred was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved playing guitar and fishing.  He also enjoyed spending time with his loving family.  Fred was a graduate of Mt. Zion High School in Winnsboro and retired from Manhattan Shirt Company. 

The family will hold a private service at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Fred’s memory to the First Church of the Nazarene Building Fund, 650 Nineth Street, Winnsboro, SC 29180.
