Elease Bowers Obituary

 

Elease Bowers passed away on September 22, 2021, at the home of her son Gary (Libby) Smith whom she has resided for the last 7 ½ years.  She was born in Lee County South Carolina on May 10, 1930, daughter of the late Herbert and Julia Humphries.

She is survived by her sons and their wives, Jerry and Vanessa Smith, Gary and Libby Smith, Larry and Joan Smith, and Wayne and Susan Smith; son-in-law, Linda and Larry Waters; grandchildren, Chuck and Melissa Raley, Ladaryll and Sherry Robinson, Michael and Amanda Smith, Lee Smith, Ken and Kasey Smith, Brittni Sharpe, Floyd Bagwell, Ashley Smith and Anthony Scarano, Jed and Christy Stevens, Chuck and Myra Waters, and LeeAnne Waters; great grandchildren, Lesley and Steve James, Andrew Letrick, Javien Robinson, Hannah and Emma Smith, Zoey and Leah Smith, Noah Scarano, Olivia Stevens, Carson and Savanna Waters; great-great grandchild, Harrison James; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and her dear nieces Connie Humphries, and Mittie and Angie Christie. 

Mrs. Bowers was predeceased by her loving husband Grady Bowers of 28 years; Leroy Smith, father of her four sons; brothers and sister in laws; and granddaughter, Carmen Smith Bagwell. 

Mrs. Bowers was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her.  She worked at Fairfield Manufacturing in Winnsboro until her retirement and was a faithful member of the Winnsboro Church of God.  Elease will be greatly missed by her family, but the love and care she showed will live on forever. 

Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock PM Friday, September 24, 2021, at Redemption Church of God, 165 Columbia Road, Winnsboro conducted by Reverend Dillon Pullen and Reverend Darryl Croft.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the church.  Burial will follow in Centerville Cemetery, Centerville Road in Ridgeway, SC.  For everyone’s safety, social distancing will be implemented, and masks are required.

Serving as pallbearers are Chuck Raley, Ladaryll Robinson, Michael Smith, Lee Smith, Kenneth Smith, and Anthony Scarano.
