Doris Irene Smith

Doris Irene Smith, 86, of Heath Springs, passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019.  Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Macy McGill Bryant. 

She is survived by her son, James Whitman (Marcia); three daughters, Gloria Herring (Paul), Miriam Humphries (Alan), and Donna McFadden (Billy); step sons, Jerry, Larry, Gary, and Wayne Smith; four brothers, Leon Bryant (Peggy), Otis Bryant (Carolyn), Ronald Bryant (Judy), and Michael Bryant; two sisters, Barbara McCurry (Bill), and Lynnette Melchior (David); eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, Doris is predeceased by her husband, Leroy Smith; father of her children, James H. Whitman, Sr; brother, Marshall Bryant; and sister, Frances Bray Gloss. 

Graveside services will be held at 2 o’clock PM Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Fairfield Memorial Cemetery in Winnsboro, SC conducted by Reverend Todd Montgomery.  The family will receive friends from 12-2 at Pope Funeral Home. 

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Regency Hospice, 420 Herlong Avenue, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
