Daniell Goldin Obituary

Daniell Eugene Goldin (Danny/Geno), 68, of Lancaster and formerly Lexington, was welcomed into the arms of His Lord and Savior on June 30, 2022 in Rock Hill, South Carolina, after a brief battle with cancer.

Danny was born in Bremen, Georgia on April 21, 1954 to Curtis Franklin and Bobbie Sue Daniell Goldin. He graduated from Lexington High School where he excelled in basketball and football, and enjoyed many shenanigans with his best friend, Grady Satcher. He earned an Associate’s degree from Spartanburg Methodist College, a Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina, and attended Tennessee Temple University to prepare for the ministry. He dedicated much of his life to Mack Truck and Allied Signal during his professional career. While his life’s path was not directed into full time ministry, Danny shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout his life and to each doctor, nurse, visitor, friend, and family member during his recent hospital stay.

Danny’s greatest joy was the blessing of his sons and daughters: Benjamin Andrew Goldin of Irmo, Rachel Daniell Peake (Josh) of Lexington, Mary Elizabeth Goldin of Winnsboro, and Joseph David Goldin (Natalie) of Easley.

Geno’s proudest and grandest moments were spending time with and talking about his grandchildren: Ava Grace Peake, Conor, Caleb, Eleanor, and Kinsley Goldin. He always showed up with fruits and vegetables, something to throw on the grill, and all of his best stories to share.

He is survived by his dear sister, Debbie Goldin Dooley (Phil), several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Danny is also survived by Cindy Fish (John) and Jorene Decell, the loving mothers of his children.

Fishing at Pawley’s and Sullivan’s Island, camping, and grilling were Danny’s favorite pastimes. He loved singing old hymns, like “Blessed Assurance”, and even added some verses of his own to many of them. Above all, he prayed every day that the Lord would help him take more time to discover the richness of The Word and be changed by His Spirit.

A celebration of life will be held at Pope Funeral Home in Winnsboro, South Carolina on Saturday, July 9th at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, Dan would be honored by contributions to Dr. Jo Marturano at Valeo.global, a faith-based organization dedicated to the spiritual and psychiatric care for missionaries and their families serving the Lord around the world.
