Carol S. McLendon, age 86, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2021 at Agape Hospice in Lexington, SC. She was born in Highpoint, NC on July 9, 1934, the daughter of the late Leonard and Estelle Stroupe.
She attended school at Spring Vale Christian Academy in Michigan and Randleman High School in North Carolina. In her younger years, she was active in 4-H Club and loved showing Holstein cows.
She was a longtime member of Midlands Christian Church of God and was a very loving and giving person who worked tirelessly for God’s will with compassion, enthusiasm and much joy. She was an asset to her family, church and community.
She is survived by her children, Ramone Bowman, Greta Blakely, Gail Greenthaler, Ray Greenthaler (Susie), Andrew Greenthaler; Grandchildren, RJ Greenthaler, Hunter Greenthaler and Andy Taylor; Brothers, Keith Stroupe and Jimmy Stroupe (Dorothy).
She was predeceased by her parents, husband, James McLendon and sister-in-law, Petite Stroupe.
A private graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 7. Interment will be at Southland Memorial Gardens in West Columbia.
