Annie Powers Douglas, 87, of Blythewood, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021. Born in Kershaw County, she was the daughter of the late William Gonzalee and Annie Caroline Atkins Powers.
Was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nannie. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She spent most of her time reading and spending time with family.
She is survived by two sons, David Smith and Kenneth Smith; daughter, Caroline Hall; sisters, Edna Ruff, Doris Douglas (Morris), Bevel Elledge (Paul), Anne Tefs, and Kitty Rabb (Alex); three grandchildren, Ashley S. Hill (Wayne), Michael Smith, and Bobby Smith; and many loving great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Annie is predeceased by a son, Donnie Smith; brother, William Powers; sisters, Tina Lewis and Esther Gunter; and granddaughter, Rebecca Cassellas.
A private family memorial will be planned for a later date.
