Ruth Floyd Obituary
Mrs. Ruth Mathis Floyd, 89, of Winnsboro passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019. Born in Mt. Pleasant, SC, she was the daughter of the late O.O. Mathis and Mattie Lee Mathis.
She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Floyd Swygert and Gloria Dianne Floyd; brother, Charles LeGrand Baker; and sister, Eloise Baker Floyd
In addition to her parents and husband, S.M. “Sandy” Floyd, Ruth is predeceased by two brothers, Leo Mathis and Percy Mathis; and three sisters, “Dot” Baker Moore, Inez Mathis Baker Burwood, and Etta Mathis Tomlinson; and son-in-law, Sandy Swygert.
Ruth was a faithful member of Stephen Greene Baptist Church, worked as a seamstress, and was a past Bailiff in the Fairfield County Court. System. Her smile and stern but loving demeanor will truly be missed.
A graveside service will be held at 2 o'clock PM Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Stephen Greene Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service by the graveside.
