Memorial services for Raymond “Mike” Ruff of Chapin will be held at 11:00 am Monday, June 12, 2017 at Faith Presbyterian Church, 1811 Dutch Fork Road, Irmo, SC, conducted by Reverend Karl McCallister.  The family will receive friends after the service in the church fellowship hall.  In honor of Mike and his love for Sperrys and being comfortable, we ask that everyone come casual.  For this service will be a true celebration of Mike's life. 

Mike went to live with Jesus June 9, 2017.  Born October 4, 1949 in Columbia, he was the son of Robert Edward Ruff and the late Mary Frances Cobb Ruff.

Mike graduated from Columbia High School. He served in Army Military Police, attended Midlands Tech and University of SC. Mike was an active Elder in his church.  He has served our youth in teaching from nursery age through high school.

He worked at Milwaukee Electric Tool as District Sales Manager for SC retiring after 29 years of service.  He created his own company, Milyn Company,servicing the fabrication industry.

Mike has also enjoyed working for Lexington Richland School District 5 as a school bus driver. He considered it a blessing being a part of the elementary through high school student 's lives.

In addition to his father, Robert Ruff and his second mother Sara Ruff, surviving are his wife Kathy Kirven Ruff, his children Ashlon (Eleanor) Langley, Bryan (Kathryn) Ruff, Chad(Megan) Ruff, William Langley, Leigh (Jeff) Frick.  His grandchildren Trista Langley, Hannah Langley, Jude Langley, Max Flythe, Mary Kate Ruff, Bryson Frick and Kinsey Ruff.  His sister, Patti (Bill) Smyer and brother Tim (Patti) Ruff and nieces and nephews. Also survived by his loyal lap dog, Jackson.

Mike was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend.  Mike's love for others was a direct reflection of his love and devotion to our Lord. His smile was filled with encouragement. He always gave his time freely, enjoying every minute with you. Mike also had a passion for wood working and his creations will be cherished by many.

His love of boating allowed him and his family to enjoy God's creation by water on Lake Murray and the Intercoastal Waterway.

This kind gentle man has loved his family and others completely through our precious savior our Lord Jesus Christ. 

A special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and techs at MUSC Oncology Charleston and Lexington Medical Center Oncology.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Presbyterian Church, 1811 Dutch Fork Road, Irmo, SC 29063.
