Mary Elizabeth Akins

Mary Elizabeth Akins, 80, of Winnsboro passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2019. Born in Tampa FL, she was the daughter of the late Jimmie and Lillie Woods Akins.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Mary Renee Mincey, son-in-law Brad Mincey; two sisters, Laura LeGrand and Colleen Carter; and two loving granddaughters, Ashlyn and Alexis Mincey.

In addition to her parents, Mary is predeceased by two brothers, James Akins and Marshall Akins; and sister, Cassie Rumore.

Mary worked for more than 25 years at Uniroyal Goodrich Tire Company before retiring in 2001.

During her retirement, she enjoyed volunteering her time helping others and spending time with her family.

She was a member of Cornerstone Church of God in Winnsboro, S.C.

A graveside service will be held at 2 o’clock on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Fairfield Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 – 1:45 at Pope Funeral Home.
