Linda Marie Malone, 67, of Winnsboro passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Boyd Mason “Pete” Finall, Jr and Betty Lou Flynn Finall of Winnsboro.
Linda was born in La Plata Maryland in 1951. She and her husband Bob moved to Winnsboro in the early 1990’s. Prior to moving to Winnsboro, Linda was active in the Greater Waldorf Jaycees and the Elks Lodge #2421 both in Waldorf Maryland. She volunteered with both organizations on a regular basis to plan and host various fund-raising events.
Since moving to Winnsboro, Linda developed a deep love for genealogy. She volunteered regularly with the Fairfield County Genealogy Society where she gladly assisted others in researching their family genealogy.
Linda loved spending time with her family. She devoted most of her life to being a homemaker. She especially enjoyed her annual holiday traditions with her grandchildren of Easter Egg hunts and baking Christmas Cookies. Linda also shared a love of NASCAR with her family. At the age of 50, she drove a race car in the Richard Petty Driving Experience reaching speeds of 130 miles per hour.
She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” John Malone; two sons, Bentley Loving Johns, III (Stephanie Hughes), and Kenneth Michael Johns (Angelina); one brother, Joseph Samuel Finall (Chris); one sister, Darlene Finall Clawson (Tommy); five grandchildren, Kristian Tyler Johns (Allison), Bentley Loving Johns, IV, Joshua Alexander Johns, Keeley Grayson Hughes, Kenneth Michael Johns, Jr., and Samuel Mason Johns; two great grandchildren, Carson Tyler Johns and Mark Ayden Ayers; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, Linda is predeceased by one grandson, William Scott Johns.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 11 o’clock am at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church conducted by Father Jim LeBlanc. Burial will follow in Fairfield Memorial Cemetery. A Funeral Vigil Wake Service will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 7 o’ clock in the evening at Pope Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
