Jean Nolte Godwin

Jean Nolte Godwin,91, of Winnsboro passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018.  Born in Charleston, she was the daughter of the late Francis Edward and Cora Huffman Nolte. 

She is survived two sons, Chalmers “Ed” Godwin (Marcia) and Jon Luke Godwin (Debbie); step-son, Frank Godwin (Brenda); five grandchildren, Luke Godwin (Alexa), Ashley Holman (Brendan), Allison Mircea (Chris), Kevin Godwin (Bailey Mullis), Christina Ann Godwin (Josh); and great granddaughters. 

In addition to her parents and husband, Chalmers Luke Godwin, Jr., Jean is predeceased by a brother, Frank Nolte; and sister, Doris Penny-Hamilton. 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 9, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Winnsboro conducted by Reverend Craig Bailey.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the church.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Winnsboro, 1373 Newberry Road, Winnsboro, SC 29180 or to Shriners International, 206 Jamil Road, Columbia, SC 29210.
