Harold Kennedy “Buddy” Turner passed away on February 25, 2018 at his home. Buddy was the son of the late Harold K. Turner, Sr. and Ethel Dewey Crowder. He was married to his life long sweetheart, Joyce Carroll Turner for 64 years.
Buddy was born July 2, 1927. He was a graduate of Mt. Zion Institute and Draughn’s Business School. He served in the in the Navy during WW II.
He was a lifetime member of Bethel ARP Church where he served as a deacon for many years. He was also a member of the Jaycee’s, The American Legion, Fairfield Country Club Board of Directors, and Winnsboro Barber Shoppers.
In addition to his wife Joyce, Buddy is survived by his daughters, Kit Turner of Blythewood and Edy Mimms and her husband Chuck of Mt. Pleasant; two grandsons, Rion Mimms (Lauren) and Elliott Mimms (Baley); and a great granddaughter, Adley Mimms.
He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Sarah Katherine Turner.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Bethel ARP Church conducted by Reverend James McManus. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5-7 pm at Pope Funeral Home.
