David James Webb, Sr.

David James Webb, Sr., 71, of Newberry passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018.  Born in Kershaw County on May 2, 1947, David was the son of the late Winslow and Ollie Edrice Strickland Webb. 

A lifelong resident of Ridgeway, he is survived by his wife of 25 years, Elaine Hanna Webb; son, David James “Jamie” Webb, Jr. (Michelle) of Ridgeway; step sons, Archie Baxley of Newberry, and Russell Baxley (Darlene) of Newberry; step daughters, Rachelle Bendenbaugh Hitchler (Matthew) of Martinez, GA, and Nina Bendenbaugh Patrick (Steven) of Newberry; two sisters, Alice Murphy of Ridgeway, and Annie Harrell (Hepburn) of Prosperity; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; and lifelong friend, Billy Neely of Winnsboro. 

In addition to his parents, David is predeceased by a brother, JW Webb; and three sisters, Hattie Mae Adams, Lula Webb, and Barbara Pettit. 

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Aimwell Cemetery conducted by Reverend Brian Hovis, Reverend Greg Neely, and Brother Lonnie Nelson.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday evening at Pope Funeral Home.
