Andrew Franklin "Frank" Blair, Jr of Blair, SC, died Tuesday, July 10, 2018 after a brief illness.
Frank was born January 17, 1929 in Blair SC, and was 89 years of age. He was the son of the late Andrew Franklin "AF" Blair, Sr and Ruby Lucille Coleman, also of Blair.
Mr. Blair was a 1946 Graduated of Monticello High School at Salem Crossroads. He attended Clemson College, the University of Georgia and graduated from the University of SC with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration.
He was a veteran of the Korean War serving as an Army Ranger, and after the war he became a Regional Manager of Sinclair Oil Company. Later he formed Frank Blair Oil Company and Blair Trucking Company. He was past president and Trustee of the Coleman Feaster Mobley Association, and Member of the Fairfield Historical Association, and Sons of Confederate Veterans.
He was predeceased by his siblings Robert Coleman Blair Sr, Patricia "Patsy" Blair Ligon, and Lawrence William Blair.
Surviving are his beloved wife Lee Ona DeHart Blair, and his two sons Andrew (Dru) Franklin Blair III, and Michael Cameron Blair and his wife Christie Santiago Blair all residing in Blair, SC. Frank was blessed with 4 grandchildren, Alexis Cameron Blair, Samantha Nicole Blair, Olivia Coleman Blair, and William Michael Preston Blair (Liam).
Frank was known as being one of the last true Southern Gentlemen. To know him was to love him! He had a gift of working with his hands, artistically creating stained glass, ceramic tiles, baking cakes, collards, and his famous macaroni and cheese pie.
His favorite past times were spending countless hours at the General store in Blair with his longtime best friend Bill Hendrix.
The funeral service for Frank Blair will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Salem Presbyterian Church, in Blair, SC. The family will have visitation with friends after the service in the church fellowship hall.
