The Honorable Kenneth "Kenny" George Goode

The Honorable Kenneth (Kenny) George Goode of Winnsboro, South Carolina, died Tuesday, November 28, 2017.  Born August 7, 1950, he was the son of Doris EuElla LeGrand Goode and the late Marshall Smith Goode. 

He was a graduate of Winnsboro High School, Furman University, and the University of South Carolina School of Law.  After completing law school, he worked briefly at Hyatt and Elliot law firm in Columbia, then returned to Winnsboro to open his own law practice.  He served for twenty years as the Fairfield County Attorney.  In 1999, he was elected a South Carolina circuit court judge by the South Carolina General Assembly, and he served in that capacity until his retirement in 2009.

He served in the South Carolina National Guard and the United States Army Reserves.  He was an avid motorcycle and automotive enthusiast.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Katherine Carruth Goode; his children, Marshall Smith Goode II, Taylor Susanna Goode, and Kenneth George Goode, Jr.; granddaughters, Tuni Gail Goode, Adelayde Blue Goode, and Niko James Goode; and his brother, John McCoy Goode. 

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 2, 2017, in the courtroom of the Fairfield County Courthouse, Winnsboro, South Carolina, with visitation following the service.
