Funeral services for Ruth Ellenburg Rabon, 91, will be held at 10 AM, Friday, November 20, 2015 at Stephen Greene Baptist Church and conducted by the Reverend Michael Cockrell[JS1] . Burial will follow at Royal Pines Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Rabon died on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Born in Winnsboro, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Lula Akins Ellenburg. She attended Mt. Zion High School and worked at Winnsboro Mills and Fairfield Manufacturing Company.

Mrs. Rabon is survived by Joan Crossland Sughrue and partner Harry Roggen; Virginia Crossland Joyner and husband Jimmy; Lynn Rabon Braziel and husband Dean and son, Ray Crossland. Grandchildren are Jamie, Benjie and Scottie Joyner; Jessica, Christina and Michael DeFiori; John Chapman; Cindy Starnes Harmon and Ashley Ray Crossland. She has seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Clyde Eugene Rabon, Sr.; son, Gene Rabon; daughters, Cheryl Rabon and Judith Crossland Germany; and grandson, Lee Chapman. She had 4 brothers, Henry, Odell, Ed and Harold Ellenburg.

Mrs. Rabon will be lovingly remembered as an avid bingo player and her pride in dressing well with her jewelry and weekly hair appointments. She was reared in a religious family and a devoted Christian all her life. Her grandfather, James Ellenburg, was the original founder of what became Rockton Baptist Church.
