Funeral services with military honors for Mr. Jesse James Kee, 94, of Winnsboro will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, August 29, 2016 at Winnsboro First Church of the Nazarene conducted by Reverend Harry Varn. Burial will follow in Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the church.
Mr. Kee died on Friday, August 26, 2016. Born in Gastonia, NC, he was the son of the late Lonnie and Nancy Ramsey Kee.
Mr. Kee served our country in the United States Army where he was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps; served during WWII in Europe receiving two Purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars. He retired from Uniroyal after more than 40 years of service in the maintenance department. Jesse was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by a son, Jimmie (Shirley) Kee; daughter, Hope (Richard Gary) Baker; sisters, Beulah Haselden and Virginia Kee; five grandchildren, Rachel, Wendy, David, Nicholas, and Matthew; and 10 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jesse is predeceased by his first and second wife, Mildred McKay Kee and Carolyn Hudson Kee; sisters, Bertha Wallace, Nollie Inman, Joyce Kee, Elouise Wessinger, and Hazel Bolick.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Winnsboro First Church of the Nazarene, 650 Ninth Street, Winnsboro, SC 29180.
