George Edmund Yongue, Jr.

Graveside services for George Edmund Yongue, Jr., 86, will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at First Baptist Church Cemetery on Hudson Street Ext. conducted by Reverend Glenn London, Jr. The family will receive friends after the service by the graveside. 

Mr. Yongue passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016.  Born on January 5, 1930 to George Edmund and Frances Bolick Yongue. Sr.  George served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from Fairfield Electric Coop after 33 years of service.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Winnsboro. 

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Brice Yongue; three daughters, Susan Y. Hughes (Ernie), Laura Y, Bunting (Mike) and Mary Jo Y. Wilson (Freddie); one son, Timothy B. Yongue and daughter-in-law Lucille S. Yongue; six grandchildren, Crawford Hughes, Jr.(Beth), Keleigh Hughes Caldwell (Cal), Edmund Yongue, Mary Gray B. Tiller (Jamie), Mikey Bunting (Sylvia), and Cheyenne Yongue; five great grandchildren, Caleigh Caldwell, Dru Caldwell, Maggie Hughes, Sarah Hughes, and Lennon Tiller; two brothers and two sisters.

He was predeceased by a son, George Edmund Yongue, III.

We would like to thank the staff of Fairfield Home of Ridgeway and also Pathway Hospice for their loving care. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in George’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
