Mr. George Curtis Campbell, 90, of Blair, SC passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. Born in Bellepoint, West Virginia, he was the son of the late George Curtis and Florence Ramsey Campbell Sr.
George served in the United State Navy during World War II on the USS Defense, a minesweeper, surviving two kamikaze attacks that hit his ship. He served as Elder and was Elder Emeritus and mission committee Emeritus at Lebanon Presbyterian Church, PCA. He loved the Men’s Monday night Bible study.
He is survived by his wife, Gaye Ann Campbell; son, James E. Campbell; two daughters, Virginia “Ginny” C. McKinney (Frank), and Diana C. Baker (Worth); sister, Josephine Fox (Charles); seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
Funeral services with military honors will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Lebanon Presbyterian Church, PCA conducted by Reverend Rob Korn. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm in the church and the family will receive friends after the service in the church fellowship hall.
