Dorothy Hulme Humphries

Mrs. Dorothy Hulme Humphries, 95, widow of James Allen Humphries of Rion, SC, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017.  Born in Elberton, GA, she was the daughter of the late Jesse C. Hulme and Lila Mae Rhodes Hulme. 

She is survived by four daughters: Brenda H. Long (William) of Ninety-Six, SC, Rita H. Harris (Wesley), Pam H. Faile (Jimmy), and Lila H. Shiffner (Jerry) all of Winnsboro. SC.  She is also survived by four grandchildren: Melissa Long Townsend (Dave) of Murrysville, PA, William H. “Bill” Long (Melanie) of Hartsville, SC, Heather “Nicki” Humphries Douglas (Chad) of Waxhaw, NC, and Janis Faile Hoffman of Charleston, SC as well as 10 great grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy is predeceased by a daughter Janis Kay Humphries; three sisters, Gertrude DePalma, Janie Johnson, and Gladys Adams; and three brothers, Thomas, Clyde, and Herbert Hulme. 

Graveside services will be held at Two o’clock Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Greenbrier United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by Reverend Athon Arant.  The family will receive friends after the service by the graveside.
