Bennie James Tanner

​Funeral services for Bennie James Tanner, 85, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at Lebanon Presbyterian Church PCA, conducted by The Reverend Lane Keister and assisted by the Reverend Tim Anderson and the Reverend Alice Deal. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. in the church prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lebanon Presbyterian Church, 8002 Newberry Road, Winnsboro, SC 29180.

​Mr. Tanner died at his home on July 17, 2016, following a long illness.  Son of the late Arnie J. and Elease Rabon Tanner, he was born on June 8, 1931, in Winnsboro, SC.  A member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church, he was retired from Allied Chemical where he was a machinist manager.  

​Surviving are his wife Betty White Tanner; four sons, Bennie J. Tanner, Jr. of Santee, Keith Tanner of Jenkinsville, Jeff Tanner (Annette) of Jenkinsville, and Lynn Tanner (Lyn) of Walterboro; one sister, Jeanette Edenfield (Lamar) of Columbia; and nine grandchildren.  

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Billy Tanner.
