Mrs. Amy Rogers Adams, 88, of Winnsboro died peacefully at her home on May 17, 2016.
Born in Woodruff, SC on June 19, 1927, she was the daughter of the late George Montgomery Rogers and Augusta “Gussie” Lee Nora Presswood Rogers. She was a graduate of Winthrop College with a B.A. degree in Music and after graduation, taught in Laurens County for several years before marrying and moving to Winnsboro.
Amy was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Winnsboro Music Study Club, and the Anemone Garden Club.
Surviving are her three children, Allene Jeter Sims (Chip) of Greenville, SC, Susan Rogers Jeter of Leesville, SC, and George Jeter of Ridgeway, SC; two grandchildren, Shane McFadden and Amy Sims Holcombe (Jamie) of Greenville, SC, and two great-grandchildren, Camryn and Kendall Holcombe.
In addition to her parents, Amy is predeceased by her first husband, Dr. Allen Parrott Jeter and her second husband, Major Ret. T. Stokes Adams.
A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at First United Methodist Church, 109 W. College St. in Winnsboro conducted by Reverend Julie Belman. The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the church fellowship hall. There will be a private burial at a later date.
A special thanks to caregivers, Amy Stevenson, Ruth Jordan, Angela Shepard, Cynthia Watson, Rose Wade, and Clara Goins for all of their care and love.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in Amy’s memory to First United Methodist Church, 109 W. College Street, Winnsboro SC 29180.
